The Lions Eye Bank for Long Island is fully accredited by the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA), registered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and licensed by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) as a Transplant Anatomic Bank for Eye Tissue and Non-Transplant Anatomic Bank.
As a service of the prestigious North Shore-LIJ Health System, the third largest health system in the United States, the Lions Eye Bank provides fresh, high-quality ocular tissue for transplant and medical research. In fact, our reputation for quality standards and stringent donor screening sets us apart from others in the field.
We offer ocular tissue for:

- Descemet’s Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK)
- Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (ALK)

We are pleased to announce that as a function of the Lions Eye Bank’s revitalization and growth, we are making plans to move our Eye Bank laboratory to larger quarters. In fact, the space of our entire program will increase dramatically, allowing us to add the state-of-the-art equipment necessary for an expanded scope of processing capabilities.
