The Lions Eye Bank for Long Island, located in Manhasset, New York, is currently looking for Certified Eye Bank Technicians to become part of our team. Depending on the candidate's level of eye banking experience, qualified individuals will be considered for the position of Eye Bank Technician or Eye Bank Technical Supervisor. Each position offers an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the Eye Bank and become a part of the North Shore-LIJ Health System. With its thousands of employees, the North Shore-LIJ Health System is Long Island's largest employer and one of the largest health systems in the United States.

These positions offer excellent potential for growth and include a generous salary and benefits package. Depending on the candidate's level of experience and the position involved, the starting base salary ranges $46,500 to $60,000. The benefits package includes medical, dental, and optical coverage, a 403b plan, 37 Paid Time Off per year, and much more. JOB SUMMARY:

Recovers, evaluates, and places human eye tissue for the purpose of transplantation, research and education.  Keeps detailed records associated with the above processes.  Assists in hospital development and in-service education programs, community development and education projects, and in the training of employees and contract enucleators.   

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION: 

Education:

Knowledge of basic anatomy, microbiology as normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s

Degree in Biology, Physiology or related field.

 

Experience and skills:

Excellent communication skills required.  Valid New York Driver’s license, access to a motor vehicle and proof of insurance.
